Butler volleyball camp slated

VANDALIA — The Butler Aviators girls volleyball camp will be held Monday-Wednesday, July 24-26 for girls from 3:30-6 p.m. at the Butler SAC. The camp will be under the direction and supervision of the Butler coaching staff, including new head coach Mel Dumenlang. The camp is for students entering grades 5-8. The cost is $30 per student. All girls attending camp will learn the basic fundamentals of volleyball, drills that will improve skill levels, and the concept of playing V.B. Volleyball. There will also be team games. Aviator boys hoops to hold golf outing

TIPP CITY — The Butler boys basketball program is hosting a golf outing on Saturday, August 12 at Homestead Golf Course in Tipp City. Tee time is 1 p.m. rain or shine. Format is a 4-person scramble. Entry is $65 per golfer which includes golf, cart fees, dinner, drinks, and prizes. Mulligans are $20 per foursome with a limit of five per team. 41Hope 5K registration open

VANDALIA — Regsistration is now open for the 41Hope 5K Memorial Run/Walk to be held Saturday, August 26 at 9 a.m. at Butler High School’s Memorial Stadium. This is the day following Butler football’s home opener versus Massillon Perry and the annual Play for a Cure game.

The 41 HOPE 5K raises money for the Blake LaForce #41 Memorial Fund, a VISIONS Endowment Fund, of the Vandalia and Dayton Foundations. The #41 Fund provides two annual college scholarships, one for a boy and one for a girl student athlete, as well for enhancing the student athlete’s experience, at Vandalia-Butler High School. The Butler Kickline captained this Memorial 5K, honoring Blake #41, to Compete, Persevere and Win.

Football officiating class scheduled

HUBER HEIGHTS — Are you interested in officiating football? The Ohio High School Athletic Association needs football officials. The cost of the class is $105 plus the cost of a uniform. After completing the course, officials will be a Class 2 official eligible to officiate youth, junior high, freshman, and junior varsity games.
