“This meet is unique in terms of the combination and order of events,” said head coach Kyle Schoenherr. “We felt we had a chance to win and got creative with our roster line-up. The girls knew they didn’t need to win each event, but that every extra point they could earn would help reach our team goal. As it turned out, every point truly was critical. Had we not won the last race of the night, or had we given up one or two spots anywhere along the way, we wouldn’t have won the meet. A lot of credit goes to the girls for fighting for every extra point and getting the team win.”
On the boys side, Daiton Sharp had a big day. Sharp won the triple jump in 41-06.75, was second in the long jump at 22-05.50, and third in the 100 meter dash in 11.65 seconds.
