VANDALIA — The Butler boys’ varsity golf posted a team score of 161, just two strokes behind Fairmont, to take second in the Diana Schwab Invitational at Beavercreek Golf Club Tuesday, Aug. 23.
Austin Greaser was the top finisher for the Aviators and for the event, earning a 35 on the front nine. Zach Crawford carded a 37, placing fourth overall in the Invite. Jack Herbst finished with a 42, placing 13th and Niels Princi shot a 47, earning him the 26th spot in the field of nearly 50 golfers.
On Thursday, the Aviators defeated Greenville 165 to 197. Crawford and Greaser shared medalist honors by shooting a 37.
Currently Crwaford and Greaser are tied for second in the Greater Western Ohio Conference with a 36.08 stroke average over 117 holes.
The Lady Aviators shot a 245 to place eighth out of eight teams. Kaitlyn Jackson shot a 52 to lead the Aviators while Hailee Perry shot a 59, Bre Kroeker carded a 66, and Haley Hampton shot 68.
