Registration open for Bec’s Bunch 5K

VANDALIA — Registration is now open for the 2015 Bec’s Bunch 5K and Kids Fun Run to benefit the Rebecca Pelfrey Foundation. The event will be Saturday, July 11 at 9 a.m. at Helke Park. Pre-registration is $25 and includes a t-shirt and door prize entry. New this year will be a Kids Fun Run for ages 2-10. Children have a choice of running 100 yards or a quarter mile. Butler football golf scramble set for August 1

TIPP CITY – Preparations are under way for the third annual Vandalia-Butler Football Alumni (and Friends) Golf Scramble to be held at Cliffside Golf Course. The scramble will be held Saturday, August 1. Shotgun start will be at 1:30 with dinner immediately following the outing at AMVETS on Brown School Road. This will be a day for the alumni to play a round of golf, relax, and enjoy some food together after golf. Entry fee is $50 per person which includes greens fee, cart, beverages (water and soft drinks), and prizes. Organizers are seeking help to make this a great day for the alumni by making a donation for door prizes or by sponsoring a hole at the golf scramble. Announcing Englewood Little League Fall Sunday League

ENGLEWOOD – Englewood Little League (ELL) is now accepting registrations for the new Fall Sunday League! Two baseball divisions – 8/9 (next year’s 9/10) and 10/11 (next year’s 11/12). Players may not turn 13 before December 31. The Fall Sunday League runs 5 weeks – double headers on Sundays. Starts August 23 with no games Labor Day weekend. Cost is $40, includes shirt. A $5 Discount for registered ELL players from 2015 spring/summer season. Open to any players, not just ELL. On-site registration will be on Saturdays: July 11, 18, 25 from 9 -11 a.m. at Centennial Park, 321 Union Boulevard. Registration forms can be found at and will be accepted through August 13.
