VANDALIA – The 2nd Annual Blake LaForce Memorial 41 Hope 5K run/walk will be held Saturday, August 29 at Butler Memorial Stadium. The 5K will be held the morning after the Play for a Cure game as the Butler Aviators host Shawnee. The Play for a Cure game is held annually as part of Butler’s home opener.
The 5K (3.1 mi) course is unique and professionally sanctioned, starting and finishing in Memorial Stadium and flowing through Vandalia neighborhoods. Perfect for competing, it is mostly flat and offers runners a chance to push for their best 5K times. The course is also great for walkers and strollers. Families are encouraged to attend. No bikes, skates or roller blades are allowed.
Electronic chip timing is provided for all participants by Prescott Race Coordination. Mile splits will be provided during the race and individual race results will be available immediately after the race is finished. Final standings will be posted within 48 hours.
Adult entry fee for is $25 before August 19 and includes a shirt, bottle of water, snacks, and refreshments. Student entry fee is $20. Registration on the day of the race will be $30 for adults, $10 for students ages 11-18. Registration is free for ages 10 and under.

Registration and Check-in will begin at 7:30 am, in Butler Memorial Stadium, Vandalia, Ohio. The race will start at 9 a.m. The course and stadium will be open for two hours.
