Writer asks for vote

I made the choice to run for Vandalia City Council after talking to neighbors, friends and business owners, and realizing that the Council needs a fresh set of eyes and new perspective on issues. I have spent the past eight months pounding the pavement, knocking on doors, meeting community members and business owners, and I have heard their needs, the obstacles they face and the kind of future they would like to see for our City. We have discussed everything from bringing in businesses that residents would support, to challenges with our zoning codes, to more aggressively addressing the trucking traffic concerns. The people of Vandalia need someone that will be active in the community and willing to speak for them.

My leadership, advocacy and experience can bring a much needed missing piece to our current Council.

I am a wife and mother and the Operations Manager of my family’s third generation business that is celebrating fifty years in business this year. My community experience includes being a former Board Member of the Harrison Township Business Association, the Family Life Advisory Board at Christian Life Center, Board Member on the Women in Auto Care and I am a member of the Vandalia-Butler Chamber of Commerce. Giving back to my community is very important to me and some of my civic experience includes serving on the Blake Laforce 41Hope 5K Committee, volunteering at the Vandalia Oktoberfest, Vandalia’s National Night Out, Taste at the Crossroads, Montgomery County Police Athletic League, Montgomery County Drug-Free Coalition, Love Dayton Projects, Thanksgiving Basket distributions and many more various activities.

I will listen to you. I will represent you. And together, we’ll ensure that Vandalia’s future is bright. On November 7th, I ask that you vote for Amber Aivalotis-Weaver for Vandalia City Council.

Thank you so much!

Amber Aivalotis Weaver
