I read something the other day that said statistics show only 60 percent of all Americans believe in the “American Dream.”
That means 40 percent DON’T believe in it and that’s really sad.
The American Dream is a set of ideals which includes the opportunity for prosperity and success achieved through hard work in a society with very few barriers.
It is based on dramatic proposition that life in America should be better for everyone and it is rooted in the Declaration of Independence which proclaims all Americans are created equal.
So where does that leave the doubters who never look at the bright sides to many things in life?
It seems depressing to me.
I believe some Americans just spend too much time questioning this and that and never look at the brighter side of life.
Is it easier to doubt than it is to believe?
I don’t think so.
I try to view all the shows in a positive way.
If it’s raining cats and dogs today I don’t lose any sleep over it because there’s a good chance it will be sunny as all get-out tomorrow.
There’s an old proverb that says “let a smile be your umbrella.”
So try it sometime when nothing seems to be going right for you but don’t get your hopes up because no matter what if it’s raining that day you’ll definitely get at least a little wet.
