VANDALIA — A Miamisburg man has been arrested by Vandalia Police and charged with raping a woman at the Airport Inn on Corporate Center Drive.
Scott R. Nichols, 27, is in the Montgomery County Jail with bond set at $250,000.
Police were originally dispatched to the motel on Oct. 7 on the report of the desk clerk leaving their position with no one to manage the front desk.
After finding an employee to take over the desk, a woman told the officer that she had been raped while cleaning rooms as an employee of the motel. She told police that she was given permission to go into a room because she was feeling light headed.
Once in the room, Nichols allegedly came into the room, closed the door, and then covered her mouth while forcing her to stand up. He then proceeded to rape her.
Nichols told police that the sexual activity was consensual.
During their investigation, police found Nichols also had a warrant issued by Huber Heights police and he was subsequently arrested and taken to the county jail.
Prosecutors approved felony charges on the following Monday. He was indicted on the first degree felony charge on October 18. The case is assigned to Common Pleas Judge Michael Krumholtz. Jail records indicate Nichols’ next court appearance is Nov. 6 at 9:30 a.m.
