VANDALIA – The following police reports were received from the Vandalia Division of Police. All subjects are innocent until found guilty in court of law.
After responding to the Travelodge on Poe Avenue on a trespassing complaint, Marvin Edmonds, 45, at large, was found to have a felony probation violation warrant out of Montgomery County Common Pleas Court on an original charge of burglary. He was arrested and taken to the county jail.
Officers were called to a house on Long Street after a fire in which Vandalia Fire personnel found suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia in a room. The investigation continues.
Heather J. Derksen, 42, was arrested for public intoxication after a complaint at the Animal Resource Center. She was released to a sober person.
License plates were seized from a vehicle parked at a business on Webster Street per BMV order.
Charles Harvey, 73, was issued a summons for disorderly conduct after an incident at Kroger. He was released from the scene.
Officers responded to the Knights Inn on Poe Avenue on the report of a drug overdose. Police administered two doses of Narcan and Vandalia Fire personnel administered three more. The female subject refused treatment and exited the medic unit. Evidence was booked for possible drug charges. The investigation continues.
A 17-year old juvenile female was charged with being unruly after going to a friend’s house with permission and refusing to come home.
Officers responded to an address on Peters Pike on the report of a stolen laptop. The investigation continues.
Rondle K. Swango, 19, was arrested on a felony warrant out of Montgomery County and a misedmeanor warrant out of Greene County at the Knights Inn on Poe Avenue. He was taken to the county jail.
Jackson L. Mitchell, 53, was issue a summons for assault after an incident on Damian Street.
Officers responded to the Travelodge on Poe Avenue on the report of money stolen from a room. The investigation continues.
Marketh Ezell, 25, was arrested on a warrant out of Kettering for criminal trespassing after an incident at the Kroger on Northwoods Blvd. He was taken to the county jail.
Rhobyn Waggoner, 40, was arrested for credit card fraud after attempting to use another person’s credit card at the Travelodge on Poe Avenue. He was taken to the county jail.
A man was transported to Grandview Hospital after the report of an intoxicated male on Dellsing Drive. He was found impaired and unable to care for himself.
A complainant reported that unknown person(s) opened a Verizon account in his name. The investigation continues.
A 13-year old juvenile male was charged with unruly juvenile after an incident on Timberlake Drive. The case was referred to Juvenile Court.
A complainant reported that unknown person(s) used his personal information to open a bank account. The investigation continues.
A complainant reported a theft from her vehicle at the Travelodge on Poe Avenue. The investigation continues.
While investigating a possible domestic issue, Tyrone A. McGee, Jr., 26, was arrested on two misdemeanor warrants out of Wayne Mayor’s Court, one for criminal damaging and the other for criminal trespassing. Custody was transferred to Moraine officers at the Speedway on Needmore Road.
While doing routine license plate checks at the Knights Inn on Poe Avenue, Candis A. Hamilton, 27, was found to have a felony warrant out of Butler County. She was arrested and taken to the county jail.
An 8-year old juvenile male was charged with theft after stealing a neighbor’s dog. The case was referred to Juvenile Court.
Nicole Chaffin, 18, was arrested for domestic violence after an incident on Sussex Place. She was taken to the county jail.
A complainant reported her son was assaulted by his grandfather while the grandfather claimed he smacked him for discipline. The alleged victim was transported to Children’s Hospital. The investigation continues.
Unknown suspect(s) broke into the City of Vandalia barn on Clubhouse Way and damaged equipment used by Cassel Hills Golf Course. The investigation continues.
Dontae L. Back, 19, was arrested for domestic violence after an incident on E. National Road. He was taken to the Montgomery County Jail.
A complainant on Inverness Ave. reported his wallet and vape device missing. The investigation continues.
While on a routine business check at the Knights Inn on Poe Avenue, an officer discovered a vehicle listed as stolen out of Butler Township. Butler Township Police recovered the vehicle, returned it to its owner, and made an arrest. No further action is required.
