Vandalians encouraged to participate in City Hall Selfie Day

VANDALIA — Tuesday, August 15 is City Hall Selfie Day, and the City of Vandalia is inviting citizens to come to one of eight locations to take a selfie.

“The idea behind the event is to encourage citizens to contemplate the important role local government plays in our lives,” said Vandalia Communications Manager Rich Hopkins. “We thought it would be fun to encourage Vandalia participation.”

The idea is simple – take and post on social media a selfie of themselves at a city facility or with a city employee serving the community.

“The hope would be that by the end of the day we would have a number of selfies posted that illustrate the depth and the breadth of the City’s reach into our daily lives,” said Hopkins.

Vandalia’s participating locations include:

  • Vandalia Municipal Building, 333 James Bohanan Drive
  • Vandalia Justice Center, 245 James Bohanan Drive
  • Vandalia Recreation Center, 1111 Stonequarry Road
  • Vandalia Senior Center, 21 Tionda Drive South
  • Vandalia Fire Station #1, 8705 Peters Pike
  • Vandalia Fire Station #2, 725 S. Brown School Road
  • Cassel Hills Swimming Pool, 1061 Taylorsview Drive
  • Cassel Hills Golf Course, 201 Clubhouse Way
