Butler Township Police Activity

BUTLER TOWNSHIP — The following police activity report was received from the Butler Township Police Department. All subjects are innocent until found guilty in a court of law.

July 3

Miller Lane, obstructing official business, A traffic stop for expired vehicle registration evolved into the recovery of a stolen validation sticker, drug paraphernalia and felony drugs. Two of the three occupants were arrested for possession of drugs/paraphernalia.

Sam’s Club, Victim reported the suspect had struck his vehicle with a shopping cart and fled the scene.

Walmart, aggravated robbery, Victim robbed while trying to sell 2 ounces of marijuana – refusal to prosecute signed.

July 4

York Commons, theft without consent, Victim lost iPhone at Walmart or Comfort Inn, unsure where or how.

Walmart, theft, Subject concealed some items into bags. Subject then took price tags from less expensive merchandise and placed them on the more expensive merchandise. Subject paid for $1.23 in the less expensive merchandise while leaving with $913.21 in merchandise. Subject was booked into the county jail.

Miller Lane, theft, Investigation revealed that the reporting person bought a money order from Kroger in Huber Heights on 7-1-17. Between that time and today, her money order had come up missing. She suspected it was stolen, however at this time the location it was stolen from was not known.

July 5

Frederick Pike, telecommunications harassment, Victim receiving calls and text messages from a known person after being told to stop.

Sam’s Club, theft, Victim reported that an unknown suspect stole a utility trailer from the lot of Sam’s Club.

Creekview Circle, possession of marijuana, While assisting another officer on a warrant arrest, the resident was found to be in possession of a partially smoked marijuana cigarette. The resident was summoned into court.

Dog Leg Road, unruly juvenile, Unruly child. 17 year old son failed to return home. Located son and returned him home.

July 6

Walmart, theft, Victim arrived on Thursday, July 6, 2017, to report a theft that occurred between Wednesday, June 7, 2017, and Wednesday, June 14, 2017.

July 7

Walmart, theft, Suspect concealed items into Walmart Shopping Bags and departed the store without paying. Suspect summoned into VMC.

July 8

Walmart, possession of drugs, I recovered an occupied, entered stolen vehicle (DWOC) out of Dayton however, the driver shared the same address as the registered owner, and claims the owner recovered the vehicle a few days ago, but apparently did not call DPD to notify them of the recovery. Due to not being able to reach the owner by phone, or in person at his residence, the vehicle was towed to Sandy’s impound lot. The male driver was released at the scene, and the female was arrested for multiple active arrest warrants. A small amount of Suspected drugs (crystal meth) was found in Lewis’ purse while at the Montgomery County Jail.

Walmart, theft, Two suspects concealed merchandise inside Walmart shopping bags and exited the store. One suspect was booked into the Montgomery County jail, while the other was summoned into the Vandalia Municipal Court.
