Vandalia Police Reports

VANDALIA – The following police reports were received from the Vandalia Division of Police. All subjects are innocent until found guilty in court of law.

March 22

Police assisted Dayton police with a search at an apartment on Gabriel St. During the search marijuana smoking pipes were confiscated. The investigation continues.

Nichole L. Sexton, 32, at large, was arrested for a misdemeanor warrant for trespassing out of Riverside after officers responded to an address on N. Dixie for a suspicious person. She was taken to the county jail.

David C. Showalter, 37, was charged with criminal trespassing and inducing panic after he went into a DP&K substation on Wyse Road and pulled circuit breakers causing a power outage in Vandalia, Butler Township, and Huber Heights. He was taken to Grandview Hospital for a mental health evaluation.

March 23

A 17-year old juvenile male was charged with theft after he was found with another juvenile’s cell phone on his person. He was taken to the Juvenile Detention Center.

Cody R. Fisher, 22, was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear on a theft charge out of Vandalia Municipal Court. He was taken to the county jail.

A complainant reported that his wallet was missing but shipped back to him missing cash and his social security card. The investigation continues.

A 12-year old juvenile girl was charged with domestic violence after an incident on Scott Ave. The case was referred to juvenile court.

March 24

Numerous unlocked vehicles were entered into at Rush Trucking on Poe Avenue. Nothing of value was taken. The investigation continues.

March 25

A complainant on Crestwood Hills Dr. reported that unknown persons pried the driver and passenger side front doors from his vehicle. Nothing was stolen. The investigation continues.

Anna E. Prince, 24, was cited for disorderly conduct after an incident at the Travelodge on Poe Avenue. She and her male companion were also trespassed from the property.

Tori Spencer, 19, was cited for disorderly conduct and underage consumption of alcohol after police responded to a complaint at the McDonald’s on National Road. She was released to her father.

A 17-year old juvenile was charged with possession of marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and possession of tobacco products under the age of 18 as well as a muffler violation after a traffic stop on E. National Road. He was released to his mother.

March 26

Police responded to the Speedway on E. National Road on the report of a man who fell out of a truck. Officers found he was already in a medic unit and was a known heroin addict. His vehicle was towed and a heroin kit removed. The investigation continues.

A complainant reported damage to her vehicle while it was parked at Bunkers overnight. The investigation continues.

A complainant on Inverness Ave. reported someone entered her garage and stole a gas can. The investigation continues.

Timothy E. Severt, 63, was arrested on a warrant out of Vandalia Municipal Court for disorderly conduct after officers were dispatched to Gabriel and Elva Court on the report of an intoxicated male. He was taken to the county jail.

Three gas cans were found in the parking lot of a business on W. National Road. The investigation continues.

Richard P. Carpenter, 47, was cited for having a dog at large after a complaint on Westhafer Road.
