VANDALIA – The following police reports were received from the Vandalia Division of Police. All subjects are innocent until found guilty in a court of law.
Police responded to an address on Halifax on the report of a highly intoxicated male who may become violent and making suicidal threats. He was transported to Grandview Hospital for evaluation.
A guest at the Super 8 Motel on National Road was transported to Grandview Hospital for evaluation after he made suicidal threats.
A complainant on Leaf Tree Lane reported that a package delivered by the postal service had been stolen. The investigation continues.
A complainant on Cuyuse Ct. reported that an unknown person used an item to shatter the rear window of a vehicle. There are no witnesses. The case is listed as inactive due to the victim not wanting follow up investigation.
Nicole C. Steck, was arrested on a warrant out of Miami County for failure to appear on a traffic offense after officers responded to a report of disorderly conduct on Rader Drive. She was transferred to the custody of a Miami County Deputy Sheriff.
A vehicle parked in the parking lot of Helke Park was broken into and purses and other miscellaneous items were stolen. The investigation continues.
A complainant on Maridon Court reported that his house cleaner was suspected of stealing cash and drugs from the home while cleaning. The investigation continues.
After a license plate check revealed the driver of a vehicle to have two active license suspensions, the vehicle was towed and the driver cited.
A former resident at an address on Bristol Drive reported that a rented trash container was not at the address when Rumpke came to retrieve it. The investigation continues.
Clarence A. Smart, Jr., 53, was arrested for OVI after initially being stopped for expired plates on S. Brown School Road. He was also charged with failure to reinstate license, expired registration, and open container in a motor vehicle. He was released to a family member.
A 17-year old juvenile was arrested after a fleeing from an officer who was trying to make contact with him near Lockheed and Inverness. He was charged with a curfew violation, obstructing justice, and underage consumption of alcohol and released to his mother.
Ashley N. Anderson, 29, was arrested on a warrant for menacing issued by the Montgomery County Sheriff. She was transported to the county jail.
Tyler E. Berry, 19, was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear for community service on an original charge of unauthorized use of property out of Fairborn Municipal Court. He was transferred to the custody of a Beavercreek officer.
A guest at the Hawthorne Suites on Poe Avenue reported the theft of prescription medication. The investigation continues.
A 17-year old broke the window of a car at North Park. He was found on Little York Road and returned to the scene and identified by a witness and also confessed to the crime. He was released to the custody of a MetroParks police officer.
Sean M. Bowman, 29, was arrested for OVI after being stopped in the parking lot of Bunkers. He was released to a family member.
David McGriff, 36, as arrested on a warrant out of Montgomery County Municipal Court for failure to comply with community control on an original charge of unauthorized use of property. He was transferred to the custody of a Brookville officer.
Jill L. Lawhorn, 20, was arrested for OVI after a stop for a lanes violation on E. National Road. She was released to a family member.
Adrian R. Garrett, 24, was arrested on a warrant out of Kettering Municipal Court for contempt of court after a traffic stop for having expired plates. She was cited for the expired plates and driving under suspension and transferred to a Morain police officer.
