Vandalia Police Reports

VANDALIA – The following police reports were received from the Vandalia Division of Police. All subjects are innocent until found guilty in court of law.

September 25

A complainant reported that her juvenile daughter ran away and has not returned. The investigation continues.

Mark A. Desch, 51, was arrested for disorderly conduct/intoxication after attempting to get into the wrong apartment on Continental Court. He was released with a summons to a sober family member.

Jeremy M. Wilken, 36, was arrested for OVI after a stop for speeding and a loud exhaust on his motorcycle. He was released to his ex-wife and issued a summons.

September 26

Michael G. Thacker, 48, was charged with criminal trespassing after an incident on S. Dixie Drive. He was taken to the county jail. Patricia C. Mescher, 69, was issued a summons for obstructing official business in the same incident.

Officers investigated a burglary at a home on E. Van Lake Drive. Nothing appeared to be tampered with or taken. The investigation continues.

A complainant reported his debit card was used in Great Britain without authorization. The investigation continues.

A resident on Helke Road reported money and a bottle of medication missing from his home. There are no suspects.

Paul D. Anderson, 21, was arrested on a warrant out of Miami County for probation violation. He was transferred to a Miami County Deputy Sheriff.

September 28

A complainant on N. Perry St. reported that an unknown person established a Vectren account without permission. The investigation continues.

A 15-year old juvenile female was charged with being unruly after cursing at her mother and leaving without permission. The case was referred to Juvenile Court.

Police were sent to the Vandalia library on the report of a stolen backpack. The investigation continues.

September 29

A 17-year old juvenile female was arrested on domestic violence charges against her mother and taken to the Juvenile Detention Center.

A complainant reported that a known subject stole medication from her. The investigation continues.
