Woman arrested for stabbing boyfriend

Jamara O. Hall is in the Montgomery County Jail following an arrest for allegedly stabbing her boyfriend.

VANDALIA — A Vandalia woman has been arrested after a stabbing incident involving her boyfriend at an apartment on E. Van Lake Drive.

Jamara O. Hall, 22, remains in the Montgomery County Jail facing a felonious assault charge, which is a second degree felony, as well as a misdemeanor assault charge. Hall’s bond was set at $17,500 on the two charges By Vandalia Municipal Court Judge Cynthia Heck.

The case is awaiting possible indictment by the Montgomery County Grand Jury.

Accrording to police reports on the incident, officers were dispatched on the report of a woman who stabbed her boyfriend. When they arrived, they found the alleged victim outside the apartment with a cut wound on his forearm.

Officers found the knife described by the victim in the yard of the apartment.

When officers went to the door and announced themselves, Hall opened the door with her hands up.

During an interview at the scene, Hall claimed that her boyfriend, the alleged victim, tried to prevent her from leaving the apartment and tried to choke her. She claimed that after the alleged choking, they had sex, and then she was choked again.

A subsequent argument led to the stabbing.
