Vandalia Police Reports Nov. 17-20

Staff report

VANDALIA – The following police reports were received from the Vandalia Division of Police. All subjects are innocent until found guilty in a court of law.

November 17

A complainant came to the police department to report phone harassment from an individual covered by a protection order. The investigation continues.

November 18

Taylor N. Agler, 23, was arrested for operating as an escort without a permit after officers investigated a possible human trafficking incident at the Travelodge on Poe Avenue. She was trespassed from all Vandalia hotels for two years and transported to the Montgomery County Jail.

A complainant on Poe Avenue reported that unknown individuals entered her unlocked vehicle and stole her purse. The investigation continues.

November 19

Naomi Smith, 37, was arrested on a warrant out of Warren County for probation violation on an original charge of larceny after officers were originally investigating a trespassing complaint on Poe Avenue. Custody of Smith was transferred to Fairborn police at UD Arena for a trespassing complaint. The report was also forwarded to Montgomery County Children’s Services for investigation.

James A. Lay, 45, was arrested on warrants out of Hancock Co. for contempt of court and Clermont Co. for OVI after officers responded to W. National Road at Airport Access Rd. on the report of a disabled vehicle. Lay’s vehicle was towed and he was transported to the Montgomery County Jail.

Two complainants reported that their purses were stolen while doing laundry at an address on Helke Road. There are no known suspects.

A complainant reported that an unknown person smashed a window of a vehicle on E. Van Lake Dr. The investigation continues.

November 20

Five juvenile males, ranging in ages 15-17, were arrested for disorderly conduct after the report of several people fighting at an address on N. Dixie Dr. One 17-year old juvenile was also charged with underage possession of alcohol. The case was referred to a juvenile detective for further investigation.

Marcus J. Maxwell, 30, was arrested for OVI after being stopped for a red light violation at Dixie Dr. and Stop Eight Rd. He was also charged with possession of marijuana and child endangering. He was taken to the Montgomery County Jail.

Ryan P. McGinnis, 35, was arrested on two warrants out of Miami County for non support of dependents and a probation violation. He was transferred to the custody of a Miami County Deputy Sheriff.

Jamara O. Hall, 23, was arrested for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and resisting arrest. She was transported to the Montgomery County Jail.
