Vandalia police reports Oct. 11-13

VANDALIA – The following police reports were received from the Vandalia Division of Police. All subjects are innocent until found guilty in a court of law.

October 11

Teddy E. Spurlock, 54, was arrested for theft of a cellphone at Stubbies Bar and Grill. He was issued a summons.

A complainant reported that a subject had violated his probation after getting closer than 1,000 feet from his victim. Police notified the subject’s probation officer and filed a copy with the probation department.

Gregory S. Yones, 35, was arrested for domestic violence after an incident on Stonequarry Road. He was issued a summons.

October 12

Anthony Hazley, 48, was arrested for driving under a 12-point suspension as well as multiple active driving suspensions, and failure to reinstate. He was taken to the county jail and his vehicle towed.

A complainant reported that a possibly known suspect used her credit card at Kroger and charged over $500. She believes the card was removed from her purse at her home, used, and then put back. The investigation continues.

October 13

A key belonging to a Dodge vehicle was found in the area of James Bohanan Drive and Maple St. It was turned into a Vandalia Municipal Court bailiff and booked into police property for safekeeping.

A complainant on S. Dixie Drive reported that an unknown person opened a store credit card and charged over $900 in fraudulent charges. The investigation continues.
