BUTLER TWP. — The Butler Township Board of Trustees recently adopted Resolution No. 15-070 which prohibits parking along either side of the roadway on Jackson, Furnas and Dog Leg Roads (including that portion named “Airpark Boulevard”) in the unincorporated portions of Butler Township. Butler Township has received numerous calls and emails from residents and has responded to calls concerning trucks parking for extended periods of time on Jackson, Furnas and Dog Leg Roads. The Board considers parking on these narrow streets or in the middle lane dangerous and a huge liability for the Township.
It is now illegal for any car, truck, semi-truck, boat, trailer, camper, RV, snowmobile, ATV, etc. or any other vehicle with a motor in it to park on either side of the roadway or right-of-way on Jackson, Furnas or Dog Leg Roads. If you see anyone parking on the sides or down the middle of the road (like Airpark Boulevard), please report those vehicles immediately to the police by calling our non-emergency dispatch phone number 233-2080. This will notify the police that a vehicle presents a danger and will be ticketed and towed immediately.
No parking signs will be erected this week and enforcement will begin immediately as the resolution went into effect on October 15, 2015. Ads were posted in the paper on September 18, 25 and October 2, 2015 and posted in 5 different locations around the township.
