VANDALIA – The following police reports were received from the Vandalia Division of Police. All subjects are innocent until found guilty in a court of law.
A resident on Bolton Abbey Lane reported that he received a call from a man identifying himself as a Montgomery County Sheriff Lieutenant and saying he had a warrant for missing jury duty. The man tried to obtain a $1,000 Moneygram to “take care of the warrant.” The investigation continues.
A resident on Upper Trent Way reported a similar incident as that above. No money was requested before the complainant ended the conversation.
Unknown person(s) wrote derogatory remarks on the rear walls of Coldwell Banker Realtors on N. Dixie Drive. The investigation continues.
Demetrius QJ Luck, 26, was arrested for OVI after a traffic stop for speeding on Dixie Drive at Stonequarry Road. After becoming argumentative with officers, he was transported to the Montgomery County Jail. A passenger, Sheldon D. Smith, 26, was cited for open container.
Scott E. Fleming, 46, was issued a summons for public intoxication after he was found stumbling on Little York Road at Webster St. He was released to a relative.
John P. Woods, 33, was cited for menacing after making threats to a man who formerly dated his girlfriend. He was also issued a trespass notice for the victim’s place of business.
Police were dispatched to Vandalia Municipal Court on the report of an attorney who had written a check for client’s fines that was returned due to insufficient funds. The investigation continues.
