VANDALIA — The U.S. Navy Blue Angels, a crowd favorite, will return to headline the 2016 Vectren Dayton Air Show.
Organizers of the show, presented by Kroger, announced that the Blues, as they are called, will join Tora! Tora! Tora! as the headline acts next summer. The 2016 Vectren Dayton Air Show will be held June 18-19 at Dayton International Airport.
Tora! Tora! Tora! is a dramatic reenactment of the Pearl Harbor attack on December 7, 1941 that led to the United States entry into World War II.
“The Blues and TORA are two of the most awesome air show performances you can see,” stated Michael Emoff, Chairman of the United States Air & Trade Show Board of Trustees, the governing organization of the show. “We are absolutely thrilled about their appearance in 2016 and we know our fans are going to love it,” he added.
The 2016 show will be the 42nd consecutive year that fills the skies over Vandalia each summer.
The Blue Angels last appeared at the 2014 air show. Vandalia’s GE Aviation Systems will host the Blues while they are in town.
Air show officials say more attractions will be announced in the months ahead.
Select tickets will go on sale October 15 on the show’s website, www.daytonairshow.com. Those purchasing tickets online will have print-at-home and print-to-mobile capability for the first time.
