Vandalia Police Reports

VANDALIA – The following police reports were received from the Vandalia Division of Police. All subjects are innocent until found guilty in court of law.

January 19

Sugar Creek Township Police requested that Vandalia police locate a suspect at Central Transport. Marquise Wilson was detained on charges of burglary and theft. Custody was transferred to the Sugar Creek Township Police at the Speedway on Miller Lane.

An officer was dispatched to Halifax Drive on the report of an aggravated burglary. The complainant reported 6 individuals entered the home and robbed the homeowners at gun point. The investigation continues.

After a traffic stop for multiple traffic violations, John Kreusch was arrested for OVI. He was released to a sober friend.

Jason R. Walker was arrested for felony domestic violence and child endangering after an incident on Kenneth Ave. He was taken to the county jail.

January 21

James Chappell, Jr. was arrested for violation of a protection order. He was takent to the county jail.

Amy N. Rice was issued a summons for domestic violence after an incident on Waller Ave.

A complainant on Timberlake Drive reported that someone opened several lines of credit in her name. The victim suspects her ex-boyfriend. The investigation continues.

Allen S. Snyder was issued a summons for assault after a road rage incident at W. National Road and Dog Leg Road.

January 22

Police recovered a stolen vehicle through the Indianapolis Police Department. The vehicle was towed from the scene.

Larry D. Martin was arrested on a warrant out of Vandalia Municipal Court. He was transferred to Englewood Police at th Speedway on Miller Lane.

A resident found bullets while cleaning and turned them into police for proper disposal.

A semi truck driver parked at the Flying J reported that an unknown suspect (s) stole approximately 20 cases of product from his trailer while he swept. The investigation continues.

A resident on N. Cassell Road reported an unknown suspect stole a Rumpke trash can. The investigation continues.

Police responded to an address on Stop Eight Road on the report of a disorderly. A complainant reported she was assaulted by a known person who later came to the police department to file a complaint. Both parties were given a warning for disorderly conduct.

A complainant reported that her wallet with cash inside was stolen from her Animal Resource Center van. The investigation continues.

January 23

Police were dispatched to Leaf Tree Ln. on the report of stolen items. A juvenile admitted taking a debit card and calculator from a local business and school. The investigation continues.

True Green reported that a truck was stolen from the rear of the business. The investigation continues.

An employee of the Animal Resource Center reported that a credit card and money was stolen from her purse while it was in the employee break room. The investigation continues.

Smedley’s Chevrolet reported that a tailgate was stolen from a customer’s truck. The investigation continues.

January 24

Theodore E. Hodge was arrested on a warrant out of Warren County for violation of a court order. He was taken to the county jail.

While investigating a fight on W. Van Lake, Lashanda N. Whorton was found to have an outstanding traffic warrant out of Vandalia Municipal Court. She was transported to the police department where a family member posted bond.

A complainant reported that someone opened a Verizon account without her knowledge. The investigation continues.

January 25

A known juvenile was charged with assault after an incident at Morton Middle School. He was released to his mother.

A complainant who was visiting a friend reported her vehicle windshield was damaged by a hammer. She suspect’s her friend’s brother may have damaged the vehicle thinkin it was someone else’s car.
