College financial planning workshop
VANDALIA — Join us on Wednesday, November 7 at 6:30 p.m. for a free 90-minute workshop titled “College Planning Strategies.” We will provide information on why published costs of attendance may not be as import as you think, FAFSA tips and its importance to you, and much more.
The workshop will be held in the Community Room at the Vandalia Library, 330 S. Dixie Dr. The host is Vandalia resident Kevin Larger. The speaker will be Jon Groleau. Reservations required as seating is limited. Call Kevin at 937-572-9132. There is no charge and light refreshments will be served.
Wheelchair basketball fundraiser slated
VANDALIA — Members of the Vandalia Police Department will face the Jr. Raptors in a wheelchair basketball fundraiser on Saturday, Nov. 10 at 4 p.m. at Family Life Center, 250 N. Cassell Road in Vandalia. There will be food and drinks, a 50/50 drawing, basket raffle, and vendors.
Butler High School Arts and Crafts Show
VANDALIA — Mark your calendar! The first annual Butler High Arts and Crafts Show will take place on November 23-25. On Friday and Saturday, the show will be open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Spots for vendors are still available. Admission to the event is $2.00 each day. Tipp Holiday Show seeking craftspeople
TIPP CITY — Applications are being accepted for craftspeople for the 50th Annual Christmas Holiday Show on Saturday, November 10, during Tipp City’s Annual Winter Yuletide Gathering. This show features local artists with their handmade items including articles in wood, fiber arts, glass, polymer clay, and many other materials. The location is the basement of the Monroe Township Building at the corner of Third and Main Streets in Tipp City. Hours are 9 until 5, set-up the day before. There is a caterer handling food service, and many people come downstairs for lunch and snacks and so also visit the show. Kiser High School Almuni Meetings
HUBER HEIGHTS — Kiser High School alumni meetings are held on the fourth Wednesday of each month (except November and December) at the American Legion Post 200 which is at 5046 Nebraska Avenue, Huber Heights. Vandalia Lions Club meets twice monthly
VANDALIA — The Vandalia Lions Club holds dinner meetings on the second and fourth Thursdays of the month at the Cassel Hills Golf Clubhouse at 6:30 p.m. The club does not hold dinner meetings in July or August. Programs include speakers covering topical subjects.
