VANDALIA — The Vandalia-Butler Foundation will hold a Community Celebration on Sunday, September 20 at the Vandalia Art Park. The event will be from 3 – 6 p.m. The park is located across from Butler High School at 256 E. Alkaline Springs Road.
“The event is really a way to re-connect with our donors and the community and to thank them for supporting the Vandalia-Butler Foundation,” said Cathy Stelzer-Peterson, a member of the Foundation’s Board of Trustees.
The Celebration will feature wine and entertainment and will be the first major event held in the Vandalia Art Park.
Tickets are $50 per person, of which $30 is considered a charitable donation. The deadline to purchase tickets is Wednesday, Sept. 16.
Tickets can be purchased online at www.vandalia-butlerfoundation.org by clicking the “Donate Now” button or mailed to the Vandalia-Butler Foundation, PO Box 722, Vandalia, OH 45377.
Stelzer-Peterson said that the Foundation will be sharing new, special interest funds at the event.
“We’re introducing seven special interest funds at the event so that community members can target their contributions to initiatives that mean the most to them and their families,” she said in an email.
The Foundation’s Special Interest Funds are: Small Business Development, Education, Social Services, Recreation, Environment, Community Health and Arts & Culture.
“As the funds grow, individuals can make a grant request and, if it’s approved by the Board of Trustees, we’ll coordinate through local non-profits to tackle the project,” said Stelzer-Peterson. “These grant requests will benefit Vandalia-Butler residents, businesses, and organizations. It’s really exciting!”
