Vandalia Police Reports

VANDALIA — The following police reports were received from the Vandalia Division of Police. All subjects are innocent until found guilty in a court of law.

August 11

A resident on Waller Ave. reported that her residence was broken into and multiple items stolen. No evidence was found. The investigation continues.

August 10

Michelle R. West, 31, was arrested on a warrant out of Butler County Juvenile Court for failure to appear on a family offence after officers were dispatched to the Travelodge on a welfare check of a juvenile. She was transferred to a Butler County deputy sheriff at UD Arena.

Zachary W. Riddle, 23, was arrested for disorderly conduct after officers were dispatched to a Continental Court address on the report of a fight. Riddle was arrested after repeated warnings to calm down and stop yelling. He was transported to the Montgomery County Jail.

After a random license plate check, a vehicle was stopped at Continental Court and Dellsing and the plates confiscated per Ohio BMV order. The occupants of the vehicle were released

A report was taken that an unknown subject(s) attempted to enter the rental office of the Vandalia Terrace Apartments. The investigation continues.

Tyler Rowland, 27, was issued a summons for criminal damaging after an altercation with his ex-girlfriend which resulted in a broken cell phone and a struck vehicle.

August 9

Dwayne L. Bennett, 35, was charged with assault and Jamara O. Hall, 22, was charged with violating a protection order after an incident in which Hall was struck after trying to leave a vehicle. Both were issued a summons.

Stephanie L. Jones, 34, was arrested for persistent disorderly conduct and obstruction of justice after officers responded to a disturbance on Cyril Ct. She was transported to the Montgomery County Jail.

Vernon D. Guinn, 74, was charged with disorderly conduct/public intoxication after he was found sitting in his vehicle’s driver seat under the influence of alcohol. He was released to a family friend.

Peter A. Sherlock, 59, was arrested for OVI after officers responded on a mutual aid call to the Mariott hotel on Miller Lane. He tested .220% BAC and was released to his son.

Dale M. Wakefield was issued a citation for driving under suspension after backing into a vehicle and leaving the scene. His vehicle was towed and he was released after posting bond.

August 8

Clinton T. Boyd, 23, and Marty J. Neff, 35, were arrested for petty theft after being found stealing scrap metal from a dumpster on Sand Lake Dr. Both were released with a summons and their vehicle was towed.

Nicholas S. Mitchell, 30, was arrested on a felony probation violation warrant on an original charge of domestic violence out of Montgomery County Common Pleas Court. He was transported to the county jail.

August 7

An Ohio State Trooper brought Kalob Eldred, 26, to the department for an Intoxilyzer test. Eldred tested .206 BAC and was in the custody of the Trooper the entire time.

Michael A. Johnson, 55, was arrested for public indecency and disorderly conduct/public intoxication after he was observed urinating at an address on E. National Road. Carmala Boston, 41, was arrested for disorderly conduct/public intoxication. Both were transported to the county jail.

A resident on Wollenhaupt Dr. reported that they purchased $4,000 of iTunes gift cards as part of a scam. The investigation continues.

A resident on Meadowview reported that her GPS was stolen from her vehicle. There are no suspects. The investigation continues.

August 6

Katherine Tompkins-Shutte, 42, was issued a summons for assault following an incident at Stubbies Bar between her and a former employee.

A business on Poe Avenue reported that it completed a wire transaction to guarantee a loan to a company that was a false transaction. The report was filed at the request of the company’s bank.
