Local candidates, issues certified for November election

DAYTON — The slate of local candidate and issues for the November election has been certified by the Montgomery County Board of Elections. The filing deadline was last Wednesday, Aug. 5 and all local races were certified as of Wednesday, Aug. 12.

Vandalia and Butler Township voters will cast ballots on several local issues this fall including Vandalia City Council and Mayor, Vandalia Charter amendments, Butler Township Trustees, Limited Home Rule for Butler Township, Vandalia-Butler Board of Education, and a renewal levy for the Vandalia-Butler City Schools.

Vandalia City Councilman David Brusman and Board of Education member Bud Zupp did not file for relection to their respective offices.

Below is a list of candidates and issues in each race.

Butler Township Trustee (Elect 1)

Butler Township Limited Home Rule

This proposal would establish a Limited Home Rule form of government in Butler Township.

City of Vandalia – Mayor

City of Vandalia – Charter Amendments

These 12 proposals are proposed to facilitate a more effective and efficient government and delivery of services.

Vandalia-Butler Board of Education (Elect 2)

Mary Kilsheimer

Rodney Washburn

Vandalia-Butler City Schools

Renewal of existing 7.11 mill levy for the purpose of avoiding an operating deficit.
