VANDALIA — The City of Vandalia will host a public kick-off meeting as part of the city’s process to update its Zoning Code. That meeting will be held Monday, November 13 at 6 p.m. in Council Chambers at the Vandalia Municipal Building.
“The purpose of this public meeting is to present the proposed process of the update, present key goals and findings from the diagnosis document, and allow the public to provide input on the update in a guided discussion exercise,” said Vandalia City Manager Jon Crusey in his weekly letter to city council.
A steering committee is working with Compass Point Planning to improve and update the Planning and Zoning Code. The planning and zoning code contains the regulations that address how properties can be used within different areas of the City, how land is subdivided, as well as site design elements such as signage, landscaping, parking, and access.
Members of the steering committee are residents Scott Buchanan and Larry Taylor, Corey Follick, Chair of the Vandalia Planning Commission, Aaron Hathaway, Vice Chair of the Board of Zoning Appeals, and City Council Member Mike Blakesly.
