ARCANUM — The Butler boys golf team placed fourth at the Greater Western Ohio conference postseason tournament held at Beechwood Golf Course last Thursday.
The Aviators shot a 322 led by Austin Greaser who carded a 74 to tie for third overall.
Centerville won the tournament with a score of 305, Springboro was just behind at 306, and Fairmont was third at 320. The top four individual scores are combined for the team score.
Butler’s Michael Brandt tied for 19th overall with an 82, while Jestin Love and Niels Princi tied at 23rd with an 83. Ethan Dill shot an 89 and Ben French carded a 97.
Greaser, Brandt qualify for District
CENTERVILLE — Austin Greaser and Michael Brandt qualified as individuals to the District golf tournament on Monday during sectional play at Centerville’s Yankee Trace Golf Club.
Greaser finished eighth overall with a 78 while Brandt fired an 83 to tie for 14th place.
As a team, Butler placed fifth while missing qualifying for District as a team by four strokes.
Jestin Love shot an 87 and Niels Princi carded a 93 for Butler’s total score of 341. A.J. Lawrence did not finish.
Centerville was the overall winner followed by Springboro, Lebanon, and Fairmont.
The Division I District tournament will be held Thursday, October 12 at Glenview Golf Course in Cincinnati.
