Girls golf wins three matches


TIPP CITY — The Butler girls golf team broke a losing streak and rattled off three wins last week.

In a tri-match at Echo Hills Golf Course the Aviators shot a 194 to defeat Piqua (199) and Miami East (201).

Several Aviators shot their best scores of the season. Medalist was Kaitlyn Jackson with a 44, Lexi Crawford shot her lowest score of the season with a 46 as did Hailee Perry (47) and Elly Dukes (57).

“Our 194 total score for match was our lowest for the season,” said coach Dee Hoffman. “The girls were excited about this win.”

On Thursday, the ladies traveled to Miami Shores to play Troy and defeated the Trojans 196-208.

The Medalist was Lexi Crawford who shot 46 and Breanne Kroeker had her best round of the season with a 51.

The junior varsity team fell to Troy 256-244.

The Aviators were scheduled to host Tippecanoe on Tuesday in a match that ended too late for this edition. On Wednesday, Butler was scheduled to play Miamisburg at Mound Golf Course.
