Aviator spikers seek first win

PIQUA — The Aviator spikers are still looking for their first win under new head coach Mel Dumenlang after dropping a 3-set match at Marion Local on Saturday.

The Aviators played tough but the Flyers were able to claim a 25-19, 25-13, and 25-22 sweep.

On Thursday, Butler traveled to Piqua for their first Greater Western Ohio Conference North match. As on Saturday, the Aviators fought hard in losing 25-23, 12-25, 25-22, and 25-15.

Saturday’s loss left the Aviators with a 0-3 record and they remained 0-1 in league play.

The Aviators hosted Troy on Tuesday night in a match that ended too late for this edition. They will host Sidney on Thursday at 7 p.m. and Urbana on Saturday at 12:15.

Those matches will be held in the Butler Student Activities Center.
