WEST MILTON — The Vandalia Gold 8U Boys baseball team traveled last weekend to West Milton for a tournament that featured Troy, Hamilton, Northmont, Milton, Tipp City, Arcanum and Graham

The Vandalia team did well in pool play and earned the #2 seed. They advanced to the semifinals and went on to win 19-18 against Hamilton in a thrilling game on Sunday morning.

The game featured a three-run home run by Lamar Callahan and the game winning hit by Timmy Jacobs in the bottom of the sixth inning. Lucas Tobe scored the winning run for the walk off win.

Vandalia fell 14-9 against undefeated Troy in the final. They finished as runner up in the three-day tournament.

“This was another weekend of the kids coming together and playing great team baseball, we had a lot of fun,” said coach Bardonaro.
