Morton track runs well at Van Tine Classic

The Morton Middle School girls track teams holds their second place trophy earned at the Van Tine Classic in Centerville.

CENTERVILLE — The Morton Middle School Track and Field Team participated in the Van Tine Classic at Centerville High School and brought home a sixth place finish for the boys and a second place finish for the girls in a meet that featured 14 other middle schools from around the area. Placing for the boys were the following athletes:

Caleb Vieth (4th place) 1600 Meter Run 5:16

Luke Mitchell, Zach Ballard, Zane Bedinger and Kyle Seelbaugh (4th place) 400 Relay 54.48

Luke Koehl (7th place) 200 Hurdles 31.81

Caleb Vieth (7th place) 800 Meter Run 2:25

Zach Ballard (8th place) High Jump 4-08 feet

Zach Ballard (6th place) Long Jump 14-08 feet

Troy Dixon (2nd place) Discus 111-09 feet

Riley Brady (5th place) Discus 93-03 feet

Antonio Fiori (7th place) Shot Put 32-10 feet

Placing for the girls were the following athletes:

Rachel Redmond (2nd place) 200 Hurdles 34.16
