Aviator bowlers advance to District

KETTERING — The Butler boys and girls bowling teams both advanced to the District bowling tournament by virtue of placing in the top nine teams in the sectional tournament in Kettering last week.

The Lady Aviators placed sixth with 3556 total pins while the Butler boys placed eighth with 3785 total pins.

Leading the way for the Lady Aviators was Becca Helke with a 597 total series. Jessica Sacks had a 543 series and Lauren Davis had a 538. Stephanie Crider bowled a 165 game, Alexis Brown had a 148, Alex Kapis a 142, and Amanda Jackson a 141.

The Butler boys were led by Andrew Kapis with a 610 series. Noah Detrick was just behind at 605, Drew Sacks bowled 549, and Austen Brush bowled a 545. Paul Sacks also bowled a 158 game.

The boys team will participate in the District tournament on Wednesday, March 1 and the girls will bowl the next day, March 2. Both tournaments will be held at Beaver-Vu Lanes in Beavercreek beginning at 9:45 a.m.
