CEDARVILLE — The Butler cross country teams ran at the Cedarville Friendship Invitational on Saturday. The boys team placed 12th out of 24 teams and the Lady Aviators placed 15th out of 21 teams.

Long Lin led the way for Butler with a fourth place finish in 16:33. Kyle Wertz was 21st in 17:07, Gabe Warren was 35th in 17:25, Sean Luttrell was 150th (19:21) and Matt Mescher placed 181st in 19:39.

For the Lady Aviators Olivia Schoenherr was 44th in 21:20, Abby Schoenherr placed 51st in 21:35, Sarah Hickle was 83rd in 22:15, Elizabeth Kilgore was 197th in 24:08, and Michelle Valdivia ran in 26:58.

“The Cedarville course is one of the best cross country courses in the state of Ohio,” said head coach Andy White. “It is a championship level course which will host the high school district meets Starting this year. We ran this meet to get accustomed to the course. It is a rolling course with great footing. Long Lin, Kyle wertz, Gabe warren, and Olivia schoenherr all received medals by placing in top 50 overall.”
