VANDALIA — The Vandalia Parks and Recreation Department will host the annual NFL Punt, Pass, and Kick competition on Thursday, September 15 from 5 – 7 p.m. at Butler Memorial Stadium. The competition will be held prior to the Butler Aviators’ Thursday night football game versus Northmont.
The NFL Punt, Pass, and Kick is free and open to boys and girls ages 6-15. Girls and boys in four age divisions compete against each other in punting, passing and place kicking in a fun and engaging forum. Age classification is determineed by the child’s age on December 31, 2016. No football shoes, cleats or turf shoes will be permitted. Only soft-soled sneakers will be allowed.
The program is a national skills competition for boys and girls between the ages of 6 and 15 to compete separately against their peers. Established in 1961, the PPK program is the oldest NFL Youth Football program.
Top scorers from four age divisions will advance to a sectional competition. Top finishers in the sectional will advance to the Cincinnati Bengal’s Team Championship. Top scorers in each age division across the country will win all-expense-paid trip to the AFC Championship game to participate in the NFL Gatorade PP&K National Championships. Registration will take place the day of the event! This event is FREE and open to the public.
