TIPP CITY — The Butler Lady Aviators had a strong showing at the Schroeder tennis tournament on Saturday in Tipp City. The ladies placed second overall with Madison Peyton taking second at first singles; Allison Baker winning the second singles; Xia Lin claiming second in the third singles division; Jenna Albezreh and Ashley Hess placing fourth at first doubles; and Hannah Scarpelli and Rachel Burton finishing second at second doubles.
“We are off to a good start,” said head coach Amanda Paul. “We have had three 5-0 wins against Fairborn, Stebbins, and Trotwood. We just placed 2nd at the Schroeder Tournament and were only 1 point behind Troy, who placed 1st. We had a close loss to Fairmont, but played well. We are currently 3-3. The girls have showed a lot of improvement since last season. Many of the girls worked hard over the summer and participated in a lot of camps and clinics. We have a very good, and hard working group this year. I am excited to see what the rest of the season will bring.”
Butler will play at West Carrollton, Beavercreek, Xenia, and Northmont this week.
