VANDALIA – The Butler Lady Aviator softball team recently held their banquet and presented end of season awards.

“The banquet provided a nice opportunity to acknowledge the team’s dedication and celebrate its success,” said coach Kathy Schoenherr. “With a lot of hard work, they were able to win the Aukerman relay meet, finish second at the Tippecanoe Invitational, place fourth at the district meet, and advance to the regional meet in eight different events.”

Awards presented at banquet were:

Rookie of the Year – Tyree Fletcher, Abbie Schoenherr

Most Improved – Sydney Baker, Brooklyn Warren, Sarah Hickle

Aviator Award – Lora Burris, Olivia Schoenherr

Most Points, Track – Natalie Thompson

The team acknowledged school records set during the year: Natalie Thompson, 100M hurdles (15.94). Corina Kreill, triple jump 33-0.5. Isabella Anene, triple jump 33-9.25 (both triple jump marks were during indoor season; Corina had the record for maybe a couple weeks before Isabella reclaimed it).

The team finished second in the GWOC North, and a number of athletes received all-conference honors. First Team recognition went to Natalie Thompson in 100M hurdles and 300M hurdles, and also to the 4x400M relay team of Sydney Baker, Isabella Anene, Olivia Schoenherr and Corina Kreill.

Second Team honors included Corina Kreill in high jump, Zoie Franlin in long jump, Brooklyn Warren in 100M hurdles, Olivia Schoenherr in the 800M run, the 4x100M relay team of Anna Minier, Sydney Baker, Nikeisha Harris and Bri Fourman, and the 4x800M relay team of Abbie Schoenherr, Corina Kreill, Victoria Theobald and Olivia Schoenherr.
