HUBER HEIGHTS — The Butler girls’ track team PLACED fourth at the District meet.
On Wednesday, the girls’ 3200m relay team (Schoenherr, Schoenherr, Theobald, Kreill) qualified for Regionals, finishing 2nd in 10:06.27.
Natalie Thompson qualified for Regionals, finishing 4th in the 100 hurdles. Corina Kreill placed 2nd in the 300 hurdles and will be running at Regionals.
Abbie Schoenherr placed 2nd in the 1600m run and will be advancing in that event. She also placed 4th in the 800m run, qualifying in that event also. Joining her will be her sister Olivia Schoenherr who placed 3rd in the 800m run. In the 3200m run, Sarah Hickle placed 4th with a time of 12:29.70.
The 4×400 relay time (Baker Anene Schoenherr Kreill) finished 3rd in a time of 4:17:53, qualifying for Regionals.
Corina Kreill will also be participating in the high jump at Regionals after placing 4th in Districts, clearing 4-10.
Also scoring points for the Aviators in the finals were Brooklyn Warren who placed 5th in the 100 hurdles, Sydney Baker who finished 7th in the 400m run, Isabella Anene who was 8th in the 400m run, Natalie Thompson who was 5th in the 300 hurdles, Tyree Fletcher who was 5th in the long jump and Zoie Franklin who was 6th in the long jump.
Aviator boys send five to regional
The Butler boys’ track team will have five athletes moving on to the Regionals this week.
The boys’ 3200m relay (Colon, Lin, Warren, Wertz) placed 3rd in in Districts with a time of 8:21.19 and will be advancing. Joining the relay team will be senior Austin Whisman who placed 2nd in the 400m dash with a time of 50.71.
Other top placers for the Aviators at Districts were Long Fa Lin in the 1600m run (6th 4:34.29), Gabe Warren in the 3200m run (6th 10:18.02) and Daiton Sharp in the long jump (5th 20-10.25).
