VANDALIA — The Butler Aviators completed their second straight spotless season in the Greater Western Ohio Conference North division on Monday night after sweeping Trotwood-Madison 14-0 and 19-1.

The wins improved Butler to 20-1 on the season and 10-0 in the division.

The Aviators will close out the regular season with three games versus traditional baseball powers in Southwest Ohio. On Thursday the Aviators will travel to Cincinnati to play St. Xavier (10-10) at 5 p.m. On Friday, Butler heads back to the Queen City to face Moeller (16-7) in a 7 p.m. contest. The Aviators will finish the season with a noon game at Beavercreek (18-4) on Saturday.

The Aviators will open sectional tournament play on Thursday, May 12 versus the winner of Piqua/Tecumseh.

Butler pounds Northmont on Senior Night

VANDALIA – The Aviators (18-1, 8-0) punished Northmont 9-1 in a Senior Night special, under the lights Friday night.

Senior Carson Schumann (3-1) earned the win, putting in another strong performance from the mound. Schumann worked four innings, striking out two and allowed just three hits.

Schumann was relieved by junior Zach Crawford, who worked the final three innings, with one punch out and a mere three hits.

The Aviators scattered nine hits throughout the evening, as each player in the lineup came away with a hit in this one. Offensively Tyler Burley finished the game with two RBI and a run scored.
