Ledbetter, Ballard win GWOC honors

VANDALIA — Two Butler basketball players were honored with post-season accolades.

Zach Ledbetter, a senior earned a spot on the Greater Western Ohio Conference North division Second Team and was also selected as a District 9 All-Star.

Ledbetter led the Aviators in both scoring with 14.4 points per game and rebounding with 5.1 per game. He shot nearly 45% from the field and almost 75% from the free throw line.

“Led carried the load for us offensively this year,” said Butler head coach DJ Wyrick. “He worked incredibly hard in the off season and it paid dividends for him. I’m really proud of the year that he put together.”

Noah Ballard was given Special Mention in the GWOC North division. Ballard, also a senior, averaged 5.3 points per game, 2.7 rebounds, and 1.3 assists.

“Noah is the ultimate competitor,” said Wyrick. “He brought toughness and leadership to our team. I am glad to see those attributes valued. He is certainly deserving of the honor.”
