Aviators soar at Cedarville

CEDARVILLE – Butler’s track and field team visited Cedarville University on Saturday, February 6. Competing in the largest meet of their indoor season, the Aviators placed in three of the day’s events.

Corina Kreill and Isabella Anene placed second and third in the triple jump competition with respective marks of 32 feet, 8.75 inches and 31 feet, 5.75 inches. The duo teamed with Brooklyn Warren and Anna Minier to place seventh in the 4×200 meter relay at 1:57.69. Kreill placed fifth in high jump by clearing 4-10.

Grace Swarts also cleared 4-10 inches in high jump, finishing ninth in a tie breaker. Warren qualified for finals in 55-meter hurdles, finishing 11th with a time of 9.88 seconds.

In long jump, Anene and Victoria Theobald finished 15th and 21st with respective marks of 14-2.25 and 13-5. Anene finished 16th in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:06.05. Minier finished 55th in the 55-meter dash at 8.43 seconds. Minier finished 34th in the 200-meter dash at 30.15 seconds, and Theobald was 50th at 30.85 seconds.
