Lady Aviator seniors get rousing send off


VANDALIA — They turned down the lights and gave the Butler Lady Aviators an exciting end to the regular season on Wednesday as Butler hosted Piqua.  Three seniors, Riley Clark, Abby Grooms, and Shelby Moses were honored prior to the GWOC North match up.

Butler used the momentum and quickly dispatched the Lady Indians by opening the game on a 17-0 lead before cruising to a 28-7 half time advantage.

Butler erased all doubt in the second half with a 16-1 advantage in the third period.

The Lady Aviators eventually built a 51-8 lead early in the fourth quarter before winning 54-19.

Moses led the Aviators with 21 points which included four 3-pointers.  Olivia Schoenherr added 12 and Grooms nine.  Eight Aviators scored in the contest.

The win lifted Butler to a 12-8 record overall and 6-3 in the GWOC North.
