Cincinnati Reds Winter Caravan at WPAFB

WRIGHT PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE — National Museum of the U.S. Air Force visitors will have the opportunity to meet members of the Cincinnati Reds organization on Jan. 30 from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. Catcher Devin Mesoraco; president of baseball operations Walt Jocketty; minor league pitcher Cody Reed; former catcher Corky Miller; chief operating officer Phil Castellini; broadcasters Thom Brennaman and Jim Day and mascot Mr. Redlegs are scheduled to appear at the museum stop. The visit will begin with a question and answer session, followed by an autograph session and a chance to take photos of the Reds at the museum. Seating and autographs will only be guaranteed for the first 450 fans in attendance. Vandalia Rec baseball/softball registration begins

VANDALIA — Is your child ready to play ball? Be sure to sign them up early to reserve their spot in this year’s VPRD baseball/softball league. IMPORTANT: Teams are drawn in mid-March and practice will begin in late March. Practices are held during weekdays, evenings and on Saturdays. Participants will be notified of team placement by the child’s specific coach. The first games are scheduled for late April and the last games are scheduled for July. Games are scheduled on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday evenings and on Saturdays. The cost is $70 Residents/VRC Members; $90 Non-Residents. Leagues ran from ages 5 to 18 years old.

Rec Center offers Aviator Baseball Clinics

VANDALIA — Join Butler High School Baseball staff and players for preseason instruction and development. Participants will receive quality instruction from coaches who are responsible for the success of the Butler program over the past fifteen seasons. The clinics will include the infield play, outfield play, pitching, catching mechanics, hitting mechanics, bunting and base running. For grades 3-8 boys. The cost is $15 for Residents and $20 for Non-Residents. The clinic will be held on Sunday, February 21 from 4 – 7 p.m..

Stealth baseball seeking players

VANDALIA — Stealth Baseball, 2015 champions of Division II in the Midwest Baseball Conference, is currently looking for athletic, coachable players to complete their 2015-2016 traveling roster for 10U players. An open try out will be set up upon your request.
