Lady Aviator volleyball team falls to Mason, beats Xenia.

MASON — The Lady Aviator volleyball team had a week of mixed results with a win over Xenia and losses to Mason and Tipp.

On Saturday, the Aviators hosted Mason and lost in three sets 15-25, 14-25, 15-25.

Corina Kreill had eight assists and Claire Long had seven while Zoie Franklin had a team-high nine kills. Sarah Swarts had eight digs with Franklin contributing seven. Abby Grooms and Franklin tied for team honors with two blocks each.

The JV team lost in two sets 11-25, 13-25 and the freshman also fell in two sets 13-25, 7-25.

On Thursday, Sept. 10 the Aviators swept Xenia in three sets 25-23, 25-20, 25-20.

Long led the team with 15 assists, Franklin led with 19 kills, and Swarts had 10 digs to lead Butler. Grooms and Franklin had three blocks each.

The JV also won in two sets 25-8, 25-10. There was no freshman game.

On Tuesday, Sept. 8 the Lady Aviators fell to Tipp in four sets 6-25, 25-21, 23-25, and 18-25.

Kreill led the Aviators with 31 assists, Franklin had 17 kills, Swarts had 26 digs, and Grooms led with four blocks. Grooms and Riley Clark had two serving aces.

The Butler JV team defeated Tipp in three sets 25-22, 23-25, and 25-22. The freshman team lost 13-25, 18-25.
