VANDALIA — Voters approved the Vandalia-Butler City Schools 7.11 renewal levy (Issue 11) with 55.37 percent voting for the levy and 42.59 percent against.

The levy generates $4.4 million annually for the district and has been in place since 1994. The levy accounts for slightly more than 13 percent of the school district’s annual revenue.

“Vandalia-Butler City School officials, staff and students greatly appreciate the renewed support of the Vandalia-Butler community passing Issue 11,” said Superintendent Brad Neavin. “We have listened to our stakeholders and promise to remain conservative in our fiscal management. We will direct these all-important dollars where they belong, in the classroom serving our children. We do not take for granted the support of our community and will continue to achieve excellence. Thank you for making a difference in the lives of the students of Vandalia-Butler City Schools.”
