Butler Township Police Activity

BUTLER TOWNSHIP — The following police activity report was received from the Butler Township Police Department. All subjects are innocent until found guilty in a court of law.

September 3

Speedway, drug possession, Responded to Speedway for a theft in progress. Female suspect was inside the restroom upon arrival. Store employee gave description of suspect. Once suspect exited the store, suspect ran on foot but was apprehended a short time late.

Frederick Pike @ Meeker Road, OVI, Investigation reveals that a motorcycle rider failed to maintain reasonable control, and crashed. The rider was found to be impaired, under the influence of alcohol, and/or drugs of abuse. He also had less than 100 grams of marijuana, a smoking pipe used to smoke marijuana, and 1.5 unknown pills, on his person.

Extended Stay America, rape, Victim reported she was raped by a known suspect in a hotel room. The suspect was located and arrested, charges are pending review by the prosecutor’s office.

Speedway, forgery, Responded to business for two counterfeit $100 bills passed by a black male suspect.

Walmart, theft, Responded to Walmart for a theft in progress. Suspect fled police but was captured a short time later.

September 4

Little York Road, underage alcohol consumption, Investigation reveals that 3 juveniles purchased alcoholic beverages from an establishment in Harrison Township, and returned to Butler Township with it. The juveniles consumed the alcohol, and 1 had to be transported to a hospital due to a high intoxication level.

Walmart, criminal trespassing, Investigation reveals that a known person entered the parking lot of Walmart, after having already been given written notice not to enter Walmart property.

Walmart, theft, Suspect shoplifted at Walmart. During search incident to arrest, suspect was found in possession of a scheduled four controlled substance. Suspect was booked into the county jail.

Benchwood, theft, Victim reported that someone stole her daughter’s bicycle from their front yard.

September 6

Frederick Pike, OVI, Single car crash into a ditch. Operator subsequently arrested for OVI.

Chick-fil-A, forgery, an officer was dispatched to the Chick-Fil-A restaurant, located at 3339 Miller Lane, in Butler Township, Ohio in reference to a counterfeit $50.00 bill they found in the drive through cash drawer.

Kinmont Road, domestic violence, I was dispatched to the Emergency Room at the Miami Valley Hospital in reference to a patient there who was reporting that she had been assaulted by the father of her child at 2320 Kinmont Rd. in Butler Township Ohio.

Residence Inn, rape, Female victim reports being sexually assaulted by the suspect, who she just met on the elevator, and allowed into her room. The alleged assault ended when the victim’s boyfriend returned to the hotel room earlier than expected.

September 7

Walmart, theft without consent, On this date, I was dispatched to Walmart on a report of a female shoplifter in custody. The female was arrested for theft and transported to the county jail.

Walmart, heroin possession, The reporting party called 911 after her 23 year old friend became unconscious in the passenger seat of her car while parked at Walmart. The suspect was alert upon my arrival but showed signs of impairment and admitted to snorting a cap of heroin or fentanyl. This subject handed over the two remaining caps of heroin/fentanyl to me before getting into the medic for transport to the hospital. The suspected drugs will be analyzed, and pending the outcome of the lab results, charges may be filed at a later date.

September 8

Walmart, theft without consent, Investigation reveals that a suspect concealed merchandise at Walmart, and left the last point of sale without paying for the merchandise.

Walmart, theft without consent, Investigation reveals that 3 suspects entered Walmart. 1 concealed merchandise while a second aided and abetted, acting as a lookout. The 3rd concealed merchandise as all three left the store, without paying. One attempted to run, but was captured a short time later.

America’s Best Value Inn, falsification,

Subject was arrested for a warrant. During transportation to jail subject was squirming around in the back seat of the cruiser. Subject admitting to being a heroin user. Upon arrival at the jail, correction officers discovered a hypodermic needle in the subject rectum.

Great Clips, theft without consent, One of the listed victim’s co-workers saw the white male suspect inside the victims vehicle around 1730 hours however, at that time this victim did not seem concerned about loosing some change. When it was later discovered that a second vehicle was broken into, both victim’s agreed to write statements and cooperate with this investigation as it develops.

Walmart, theft, Dispatched to Walmart in reference to an internal theft. Two suspects were charged.

September 9

Benchwood Road, domestic violence, : Investigation reveals that during a disturbance, 1 sibling assaulted another, causing visible injury. During the investigation, burnt marijuana could be smelled in a vehicle. The owner of the vehicle refused to stay out of the car, after being told to do so, and was arrested for obstructing official business. Suspected heroin, marijuana, and paraphernalia were located in the vehicle.

Hooters, theft without consent, Subject consumed food and an alcoholic beverage. Subject left establishment without paying. Contacted owner of the vehicle used to flee the theft. I obtained suspects phone number and first name. Called suspect and could overhear what sounded like a police officer questioning suspect. Learned later that the suspect was arrested by the Ohio State Patrol on I70 near Brookville, Ohio, for OVI related traffic offenses. Obtained identity of suspect from OSP. Returned to the victim and the victim decided to sign a refusal to prosecute.
