Butler Township Police Activity


BUTLER TOWNSHIP — The following police activity report was received from the Butler Township Police Department. All subjects are innocent until found guilty in a court of law.

August 7

Maxton Road, criminal trespass, Subject was located on the property of Towne Place Suites after previously being trespassed on 07/26/2017. Subject was booked into the Montgomery County Jail.

Green Turtle, identity fraud, Dispatched in reference to an identity theft in which a Verizon Wireless account was fraudulently created.

Miller Lane, possession of drugs, On this date, I stopped a vehicle that came back stolen through LEADS out of Texas. One of the subjects was arrested for possession of drugs.

Frederick Pike, possession of marijuana, Upon stopping a suspicious vehicle leaving the Stillwater Church, the driver’s first statement to me was “I don’t have any marijuana in the car”. A small bag of marijuana was found in plain view from outside the vehicle. The driver agreed to take a series of standardized field sobriety tests which she passed. The marijuana was seized and a summons has been issued to the driver before being released.

August 8

Walmart, theft, Dispatched to Walmart in reference to a shop lifter in custody.

Dog Leg Road, Met complainant at the police department in reference to a lost or stolen Spectrum modem.

Silver Rock, burglary, I was dispatched to this address on a report of a burglary that occurred sometime earlier in the day. The scene was processed, and a report was taken.

August 9

County Line Road, improperly handling firearms in a vehicle, Suspicious vehicle with two males present on scene. Vehicle towed and during inventory found handgun and various tools and speakers not belonging to suspects.

Laurel Ridge, theft, Dispatched to theft from a vehicle.

Miller Lane, theft without consent, Investigation revealed that two suspects ordered $19.75 worth of drinks at Hooters, 6851 Miller Lane, and they fled the business without paying for the drinks. Both were arrested and booked into jail. They were also trespassed from the business for 2 years.

August 10

Walmart, possession of criminal tools, I was dispatched to Walmart on a theft in progress. Upon arrival, a subject was arrested and transported to the county jail.

Cover Mill Court, breaking and entering, Dispatched to 8560 Coover Mill Court in reference to a breaking and entering. Entry made to a detached garage that was having the overhead door installed. Victim described the tools taken. I recognized the victim’s description of the tools as being some of the tools recovered on August 9, 2017 (Original D#17-050972.) Tools were returned to the owner.

August 11

Walmart, theft, Suspect was detained for shoplifting. Subject was summoned into the VMC for theft.

Walmart, theft, Subject shoplifted merchandise. Subject was summoned into the Vandalia Municipal Court.

Walmart, theft, Asset Protection Associate Cody Sanders reported that a black male suspect removed an air mattress from the store without paying for it.

August 12

Walmart, falsification, Investigation reveals that during the course of an overdose investigation, an associated subject provided false identifying information, and mislead a police officer as to his correct identity. It was learned that the suspect had 2 felony warrants, and was in possession of empty gel caps with a powdery residue.

Walmart, theft, Two Walmart Associates rang up items and then deleted them and pretended to scan items into the register and then bagged the items. The associates then departed the store with the unpaid merchandise. Both were booked into the county jail.

Sam’s Club, theft, store Manager Sara Schnider reported that on August 12, 2017 between 0000 hrs and 0010 hours unknown suspect in a red extended cab pick up truck took a 15’ Karavan utility trailer from the north end of the business parking lot. The theft was caught on store security video.

Keeneland Drive, theft, Victim reported having garbage inside his wheelbarrow beside his home. The next morning, he found the garbage was on the ground and the wheelbarrow was missing.

Walmart, disorderly conduct, Investigation reveals that a subject walked into the Walmart, 3465 York Commons Boulevard, and collapsed. It was learned that he had overdosed on Fentanyl, and required transport to a hospital for treatment.

Benchwood, theft, Complainant states while she was being treated for a medical emergency unknown subject stole her purse and contents off the hood of her vehicle while it was parked in front of her residence.

Green Acres @ Brantford, OVI, Located vehicle involved in minor property damage accident. Operator was found to be under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs of abuse. Operator arrested of OVI.

August 13

Frisch’s, menacing, Customer and employee exchanged words regarding a incorrect order at the drive through window. Customer entered store and threatened to strike employee. Employee declined to prosecute.
