VANDALIA — The Vandalia-Butler City Schools have announced that the Board of Education office will be closed Thursday and Friday, August 3-4, 2017.

The closure is to facilitate the district’s move into its new office in the former Dayton Metro Library building at 500 S. Dixie Drive. The building is adjacent to Butler High School and the football stadium.

The former library building has been undergoing a renovation since early this year to accommodate the school offices. The Board of Education’s current building, located at 306 S. Dixie Drive, will be demolished at library expense.

The demolition is the final part of the library construction project.

The renovation was managed by Energy Optimizers, USA, LLC and cost nearly $600,000.
