Dance Expressions to hold Revue

Historical Society Garage, bake, and plant sale

VANDALIA — The Historical Society of Vandalia-Butler will host a Garage Sale and Bake Sale Thursday through Saturday, May 18-20, fom 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 336 E. Alkaline Springs Road, Vandalia. “Our Homes Garden Club” will also be on the Society grounds Thursday and Friday only with their Plant Sale (while supplies last). Vandalia Community Garage Sale

VANDALIA — The City of Vandalia is gearing up for Garage Sale Weekend May 19-21 with a new service designed to steer more traffic to your sale. The City is creating a locator map that will be made available for download from the City web site, www.vandaliaohio.org. The map will include the addresses of every registered garage sale.

Residents who would like their garage sale information included on the map will have until Tuesday, May 16, to submit their address and information. On Wednesday, May 17, the map will be posted to the City website and made available for download.

Residents are reminded that a garage sale is limited to only one advertisement sign, which may not be posted in the public right of way, such as a utility pole or tree lawn. If you have a question about sign placement, please call 937-898-3750. Goodwill Industries will locate a donation truck in the Vandalia Municipal Building parking lot, 333 James Bohanan Drive, which will be accepting any unsold merchandise from your sale.

Veterans offered free dental care

VANDALIA — Neely Dental Team will offer free basic dentistry to veterans on Thursday, May 25, 2017. Basic dentistry includes cleanings, fillings, and extractions. Veterans should call the office at 898-8798 for an appointment. Neely Dental Team is located at 39 Dellsing Drive in Vandalia.

Polk Grove to hold ‘Cruise-In to Spring’

BUTLER TWP. — Polk Grove United Church of Christ will be holding its annual ‘Cruise-In to Spring’ spaghetti dinner on Sunday, May 21 from 4 – 7 p.m. in the church parking lot. The spaghetti dinner will include spaghetti and meatballs, salad, Texas toast, dessert, and a drink. The cost for dinner will $8 for adults and $6 for children under 10.The church is located at 9190 Frederick Pike. in Butler Twp. Please bring your classic car or just come enjoy. Smith Planetarium show to be Cosmic Jams

VANDALIA — Free shows are offered on the second Saturday of the month during the school year at the Smith Middle School Planetarium. Shows begin at 7 p.m. and are free and open to the community. Seating is on a first come-first served basis. The May show will be held on May 13 and will discuss the upcoming eclipse.

Butler classes of 1971, 1972 to hold reunion

VANDALIA — The Vandalia-Butler High School classes of 1971 and 1972 are holding a class reunion on Saturday, August 5, 2017. The reunion will be held at Celebrations II Banquet Center, 7615 Poe Avenue. Tickets are $30 per person and an RSVP is requested by July 7. Butler Class of 1967 organizing reunion

VANDALIA — Members of the Butler High School Class of 1967 are beginning to plan a 50th class reunion. Organizers are currently seeking contact information from graduates, relatives, and friends and request information be sent to vbreunion67@gmail.com. Kiser High School Almuni Meetings

HUBER HEIGHTS — Kiser High School alumni meetings are held on the fourth Wednesday of each month (except November and December) at the American Legion Post 200 which is at 5046 Nebraska Avenue, Huber Heights. Meetings begin at 7 p.m. Graduates, attendees, and friends of Kiser High School ae welcome to attend. Please park at the rear of the building and use rear entrance.

Vandalia Lions Club meets twice monthly

VANDALIA — The Vandalia Lions Club holds dinner meetings on the second and fourth Thursdays of the month at the Cassel Hills Golf Clubhouse at 6:30 p.m. The club does not hold dinner meetings in July or August. Programs include speakers covering topical subjects. The program for April 27 will be the Lions Eye Bank of Southwest Ohio.

Sister Cities meets each month

VANDALIA – Sister Cities of Vandalia meets the second Wednesday of each month at the Senior Citizen’s Center on Tionda Dr. at 7 p.m. followed by a Gemuetlichkeit (social) hour.

Rotary Club of Vandalia meets on Thursdays

Optimist Club of Vandalia-Butler meets on Tuesdays

VANDALIA — The Optimist Club of Vandalia-Butler, celebrating its 40th year, welcomes members and guests to their weekly meetings on Tuesdays at 12 noon. Mothers groups meet in Vandalia

VANDALIA — MOPS and MOMS Next meetings offer community and mothering support to mothers of children age birth through six. MOPS and MOMS Next meetings are held at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Vandalia (122 W. National Rd. in Vandalia next to Rite Aid) on the second and fourth Thursday evenings of each month from 6 – 8:15 p.m. Childcare is provided (please RSVP prior to attending to ensure enough childcare workers are available).
