VANDALIA — Kappa Beta (KB) service sorority works throughout the year leading local fundraising programs to raise money for two $1,000 scholarships for Butler High School seniors and several local charities. KB is dedicated to making our community better through these programs.

March was a busy month for Kappa Beta. We had our third Paint Party Fundraiser on Saturday afternoon March 25. This benefit/event was lead by Cass Barth, a well-known Vandalia artist and retired Vandalia-Butler teacher.

The other project keeping the Ways and Means Committee of Jackie Martin and Emily Feeser, also retired Vandalia-Butler teachers, busy is Springtime in Vandalia. This event is happening April 22 at the Vandalia United Methodist Church from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Shoppers will be happy to see some new artists displaying this year and many “old faithfuls” with exciting new creations. There are many choices on the lunch menu which promise to be yummy and this year Mu Epsilon chapter not only will do the bake sale but also provide lunch desserts.
