BUTLER TWP. — Aullwood Audubon Center and Farm received an official grant award from the Ohio Farm Bureau Foundation at Aullwood Farm on Tuesday, April 4, 2017.
Chris Baker, Executive Director for the Ohio Farm Bureau, made the presentation of the $2,600 check along with Janice Welshheimer, board member of the Ohio Farm Bureau Foundation to Alexis Faust, Executive Director of Aullwood Audubon Center and Farm. Joining Chris Baker for the presentation was Christy Montoya, Montgomery County Farm Bureau Organization Director, and Tom Hertlein, Trustee for the Montgomery County Farm Bureau. Aullwood was also represented by Sam Wickham, Farm Manager, and Jeff Trick, Farmer for Aullwood Audubon Center and Farm.
The Ohio Farm Bureau Foundation made this award to support Aullwood’s educational programs at the farm including the candle-dipping program and the maple syrup program both of which are enjoyed by thousands of students and members of the community each year. This grant will allow Aullwood to update much-needed equipment and supplies to continue to offer these engaging and educational programs. Aullwood is grateful for the support of the Ohio Farm Bureau Foundation.
